Well, my dealer told me that he just got in T753s and T763s which had V2.0 software as he'd speculated. But he hasn't opened any. Anybody know what the improvements are? He also hasn't gotten in T773s or T163s but, again, is speculating that these might finally be PLIIx finally. Anybody have any better data? Also, V2.0 should be downloadable, anybody got any info on that?

I received my NAD T773 on 7-8-04 and supposedly it was from a new shipment that my dealer had just received from NAD. The software on the unit is version 1.26.

I have heard that the V2.0 versionof the T773 isn't shipping until next week. Since the T773/T163 was on backorder for more than a month, I suspect it was from the "last" shipment, not a "new" shipment.

Any idea when ver. 2.0 will be available to download or will we have to see our dealer?

I was told late August for V2.0 software. I don't know yet if that means swapping the DSP board in the unit. I'm fairly sure that board swap has to happen for PLIIx, but not sure if it's needed just for 2.0. This has me somewhat confused. I wish they were a tad more clear on all this.

The software itself wont need a board replacement. DPL2x will require a board replacement!

Pls read the below mail sent by NAD:

Thank you for your recent comments in our NAD Guest Book via the
NADelectronics.com web-site.

We are currently investigating the possibility of upgrading the
T163/T763/T773 to support DPLIIx in the future. PLIIx code is waiting Dolby
approval for the Cirrus DSP. There are two parts to the upgrade. The first
part is upgrading the main control software which can be done via the RS232
port. The new software adds several new features and updates to the user
interface. To get PLIIx, you then need to replace an IC chip on the DSP
board which should be done by a service center.
As the update is not a repair or a fix for a flaw, it will not be covered
under warranty. However, we are not anticipating it to be a very large cost.

We have not definite dates, and the T753 is not eligible for the update.

Best regards,

Karen Pritchard

Does anyone have any further info from NAD about firmware updates via the end user? Will they make them available?
Thanks
