Anyone have else have issues with menu not showing on the screen correctly with this player. I come across 2 disk that will not go into the menu screen. The screen show parts of the menu but most selections missing. I notice that you can tab to the sub menu and select and get to the audio setups. Then playing around you can play the whole DVD movie. and plays without a hitch. Then one disk a music DVD the song selection will not show up but tab and sure enough you can get to an individual song. I have tried to play these disk on other DVD player and they work fine. Any thoughts as to what is going on. I find this frustrating I want to buy DVD's that work with this player as it is my Sac Audio and DVD player which I enjoy.
Hi,
I have a 47a too and have not experienced any menu problems. You may have a problem with your player.
I have the exact same menu errors and am driving my self crazy trying to figure out what it is. I tried interlace mode and no difference. I tried both s-video out and component video out and same problem.

It would certainly help if you identified the problem titles you have found so far...

You can find the reason for the problem here:

The problem is probably an incompatability between the player and the DVD Video Standard. You can tell if its a defect in the player, and not the disc, if the menus work properly in another - non Pioneer - player.

Talk to Pioneer. Find out if there is a firmware upgrade that allows the player to be compliant with some of the newer DVD authoring schemes.
The 47a is an old player. Discontinued almost 4 years ago. You could use this as an excuse to get something newer. And better. Probably for less money than you spent on the 47a too. :)
