I just ordered a 701 because, when comparing it to the 702, I couldn't find any difference except for the lower price. The Onkyo webpage and the Crutchfield page both give identical stats for these units.
Any thoughts? The 701 seems like a great player.
Also, the Oade Brothers page indicates that the 501 has Burr Brown D/A converters. What about the 701?
Thanks, in advance...

The 702 has Dolby PLIIx (as do all the new Onkyo receivers), a new microphone-based setup facility...and some other new features that are still nebulous at this time. It also has 7 channels of amplification vs. 6 for the 701. It should also have more power than the 701...not sure yet. They up'ed the 602 to 7 x 110 watts from the 601's 6 x 85 watts! Not available until September.

Onkyo TX-SR701 does have preouts for all 7.1 channels. Oooops, helps to read and know what forum one's in. TRNST7 is right, he's referring to DVD players.

LOL... I'm looking through this thread to find out about the 'receiver'...
I own one...I'm trying to find out how the auto-EQ works next to Avia's calibration disk. Maybe I should read the thread's subject as well.
