The Panasonic DVD-LS55 Portable DVD player looks essentially identical to the Panasonic LS50 that has been discussed in the forum except that Panasonic claims the LS55 has a batter life of 10 (yes, TEN) hours with the original battery.

The screen I can compare in a store, but I'm hoping someone out there owns or has used an LS55 and can give me some feedback on the battery life.

It also has an FM transmitter that is supposed to work via your car's FM antenna and through the car speakers. I don't care so much about that feature, but would be interested in any feedback about it regardless.

Bump.

So, nobody's used the Panasonic LS55 DVD player? Maybe that tells me something.

I'm looking at the Panny too, because of the good battery life. Downsides appear to be price, and a cnet reviewer mentioned that the weight was higher than average too.

Is it a good player? Are there other models out there with comparable battery life which are also thin and light and/or less expensive?
