Eveybody here is talking about the Zenith DVB318. Look a bit in here there is alot of threads about this player.
It's an upscaling DVD player with the Farudja chip in there.
I bought one but can't realy test it yet because i'm waiting for my Toshiba 52HM84 DLP to arrive...
The main reason there's a lot of talk about the Zenith is that it is one of only a few players that upscales over component (unfortunately, with the new firmware, that will no longer be possible). The Zenith does upscale over DVI, but does a much better job at 1080i than 720p. For a DVI-out player, I'd recommend as a better option the Denon 1910, due out next week.

I have both the Zenith DVB-318 and Oppo Digital DV971H. The Oppo (with the latest firmware) is by far a better player than the 318.

Don't you mean the Denon 1920? I thought that was the new one...
The 1910 is their newest upscaling player at the low end (there's no such player as the 1920, at least in the US). Their current line up includes the 1910, 2910, 3910, and 5910.

1920 is replacing the 1910.
The guys at Tweeter said it should be out next month or so; it's in their database and they already sold a few.

If you check the dates, you'll see that for some reason this thread was revived from last August, hence the 1910 coming out next week comment.

Hahaha, good catch! I should have noticed that. Silly back from the dead threads.
(Hey I was just in Colorado last weekend...I love that place)
Anyhow, I am torn between the Oppo, S97, S77, or just waiting for the new Denon and Marantz units. I guess they'll be a little more expensive though....groan...indecision...it kills me....
Is the entire Denon line being replaced, or just the 1910?
