I know this isn't the DVD player forum but it is the most likely place to find people in the know on this DVD player.

The new model of the 880 is the DVD-V880DX. I also see the DVD-V880-Deluxe on some web pages. Is this the same model? Is the DVD-V880N out yet and is it worth waiting for, does it offer anything new other than networking?

Thanks

The Deluxe as I understand it is the same at the older Momitsu but with a better/additional digital analog converter that improves the component out. Since you are asking in the CRT forum, I am assuming you are going to use RGB so the Deluxe version doesn't buy you anything more than the older one. Costs more too. As to whether to wait for the V880N, its primary claim to fame is to be able to stream over Ethernet. If that is important to you then, yes, it might be worth waiting for. If just want a scaling DVD player and don't care about streaming over Ethernet, then it probably isn't worth waiting for. Oh, and I believe the DX and Deluxe are one and the same.

I'm sure it's the Deluxe. As far as I know that's the only thing they're shipping now.

I'll let you know for sure on Tuesday when mine gets here. :D

Where did you get yours from? I went ahead and ordered one as well.

I got my "regular" V880 from Extreme Phono. Fast shipping.

On another note about the 880 versus 880N, I noticed that the 880N has an option for analog inputs. Has anyone looked into this? Does it scale the input as well? Does it put the analog inputs through the RGB out?

If so, this could be ideal for cable/sat or whatever. I wish Momitsu would put some better info on their website.

Ordered mine from Extremephono. He was very helpful, answering questions &etc. I sent Paypal $$ on 9/15, he sent it on 9/17, and it's due here on Tue 9/21.

That is where I ordered mine from as well. Ordered today, should have it Tue. or Wed. (I'm in the Bay area where they are located). Can't wait.

I have received my V880N, the analogue input is optional and is not available yet.
The networking feature is fan-bloody tastic, and I have just been playing with the USB port and an external hard drive and that seems to work OK too.
I would go straight for the V880N.

dokworm: still happy with the 880N? Is macrovision a problem on the rgbhv output on it? Have you had any problems?

Same question as Kjelli,

Everyone satisfied with PQ and features on the 880N ?
Any problems with DVI->RGBHV connections etc. ?
