I got into the service menu for my TV, and took pics of all the various menus so I would have these available for reference should I screw up a setting.

You can view the shots here: Service Menus (http://faculty-staff.ou.edu/G/Lance.D.Goins-1/samsung/)

Now, the service menu for this model is unavailable so far. Can anyone tell me which of these settings I can safely adjust (to get rid of a red color bloom, for example) vs. the settings I should be very afraid of changing? I need to get rid of the usual red push, plus there's a noticeable red/orange bloom to the right of bright red/orange/yellow subjects. And the 16x9 image has a very slight bow at the top.

Thanks, and I hope the pics are helpful.

I did go in and reduce the red gain, and changed some of the vertical/horizontal size settings. Some of the network news crawls were only partly visible at the bottom of the screen.

Do any of the service menu settings affect focus or convergence on CRT tube hdtvs? It looks to me like green and red might be a bit too far down and to the right (which probably means it's the blue that's too high and to the left).

I've started a new thread asking about the color alignment issue here:

I'm really hoping it's something I or a tech can fix via the service menu, since I really don't want to return the TV or be without it for several weeks.

Other than that one issue, I LOVE this TV.

Has anyone been able to obtain the service manual for this model as of yet? I have some overscan I would love to rid myself of if at all possible....

I found the service manual for sale on the samsungparts site part number SM-TXP3271H for $22 ouch...

Also how do I get into the service menus?

Thankyou in advance!

I wish I could make this a sticky:

This is a couple of years old now but many of the settings are the same. Please, please, take the warning seriously. Write down all of the numbers if you intend to change the values.
Also, values are different from set to set, only use others as a guide.
Did I mention write down the values?;)

Good luck. Many of the suggested changes really do make a difference with colour and the like and they're relatively easy to correct. Geometry, however, is a different kettle of fish altogether.
