Unexpected Result Code (93A6000b)
I get this error when I try adding a 2nd satellite provider to input 1 (I already have dish on input 2 because of the S-Video input on 2).
Doesn't seem to matter if I select dish, directTV, or cable - on net-connect it retrieves up to 87% of the channels then quits with this error.
I assume this is a software bug reated to already having a provider on input 2 and then trying to add one on input 1? Is there a workaround short of having to recreate all my replay guide channels by starting over by erasing input 2 and then adding 1 and then two?
In case you're curious, the goal of the excersise is to connect my samsung SIR-T165 OTA tuner to input one, and rely on the DirectTV guide data for local info, while maintaining dish network (no locals) on input 2.
Serious suggestions welcome.

I use a 2-way satellite ISP (no cable or DSL in the boonies!). They use a proxy called NettGain that does some caching magic to compensate for long bounce times on the satellite. I doubt they will rebuild their system for me, so I'm going to have to find another solution.
If I switch to dial-up to do the initial configuration, do you thing subsequent net connects will have smaller urls than the initial setup?
Any other ideas (get a 2nd replay is on my list - Dish on one, OTA on the other)

Subsequent net connects will likely have the same problem but it is worth
a try.
You can try complaining to the proxy server author about the problem with
long URLs. You can also try disabling the proxy server while doing net
connects. If that is effective, perhaps you can automate the procedure.
Potentially if you have access to server resources outside your ISP, you
could proxy the replay requests on another port to avoid your ISP proxy
and have your own proxy server outside your ISP do the requests for you.
I don't really know how you proxy is setup so I can't make any specific
suggestions and what I'm suggesting may not make sense for your setup.
If you are using ethernet mainly because you want to stream, 5xxx series
with most recent OS should be able to use dialup for net connects and
still be able to stream between units over ethernet.

Here is my ISP's response (such as it is). What should I put under exceptions?
I copied a snip of your suggestion, but she took it a little too literally, however, it sounds to my naive mind like it might actually work if I knew what to put under exceptions...

Thank you for your inquiry. We do not use a Squid transparent proxy's on our network. However, in case if you add the url in question to your exceptions box within Internet Explorer so it would bypass our proxy server it may work.
In order to do this you would go into your Control Panel> Internet Options> Connections> LAN Settings> Advance: add to exceptions box at the bottom.
Sincerely,
Yolanda
production.replaytv.net
and
rddns-production.replaytv.net (for IVS)
are the servers that need to bypass the proxy.
But I'm a little confused. Do you have your replay connecting to your ISP
through your PC? Otherwise, I don't see why the PC settings for proxy
server would affect how replay connects.
If you can post an ethereal dump of your net connect I can tell you better
what is really happening.

I do connect through my PC. The satellite modem is connected to one ethernet port, and my home network, including other PC's and replayTV's, is connected to a 2nd ethernet port. My ISP does not allow or support connection of a router, but they do allow (but do not provide support for) ICS (internet Connection Sharing) from the computer with the satellite modem.
I tried excluding those two domains, but it did not work. same error code.
I'll try to install etherreal after work. I'm not much of a hacker, but I'll muddle through.
Thanks for the help.
Try disabling the proxy settings completely and see if that helps. In this
config you should see the high latency for web browsing, but it will tell
you right away if further efforts on the proxy server config would help.
The other thing you could try is using a smaller guide. I've heard some
areas may have DirecTV guides w/ and w/o locals. I have no idea if this
is true and thus cannot tell you if it will help your situation, but it is
something you can look into.
Another suggestion posed on a different thread was to run WIRNS.

Disabling proxy did not work. I think that setting (in internet options) only affects IE on the PC, and not the replay or other network devices.
I think I am probably out of luck. Wouldn't wirns just pass the same URL and therefore have the same problem?
WIRNS can be configured to retrieve the show database from an
alternate source. Presumably it doesn't use the URLs replay likes
to use and instead uses an alternate interface provided by zap2it
for developers.
So basically you'll no longer be getting exactly the same guide
everyone else is getting, but it should be almost exactly the same.
I think someone mentioned "repeat" shows are not marked correctly.
I don't use this method, so what I describe might not be exactly
correct.
I added some more suggestions here:

Also, trivial cause of this error is if your Zipcode is missing in setup. My Replay keeps losing settings (probably a much bigger problem) and if it can't find the zip (or it is corrupted), then you get Error 93a600b and you get in a loop in the setup process until you enter the zip and it can find the proper guide information.

I too am now getting this error. I have Adelphia and they swear that they are not using a proxy.
This has been working for me for a while when I have been downloading basic cable listings and had it configured to download Directtv listings. I just switched to Digital cable. Now when I try to switch In 1 or even if I set In 1 to nothing I get this message. If I discard changes things work ok again for basic cable, but obvious I do not get the digital listings.
Any help would be appreciated.

I was messing around with WiRNS earlier today and decided to stop using it for the meantime until i figure out some of its features (having 2 different listings so that a remote rtv can connect to my WiRNS setup). So i changed the DNS IPs on my RTV back to the original IP (my ISP's dns) but when I try to save the settings (including saving the zip code) i get the 93A6000b error. HOWEVER, if I enter a different zip code, it works fine. It just wont work with one of the 2 zips code i had set up in the zap2it lineup...just so happens to be the one that is mine. so i try the other zip code, rtv updates just fine. This is now happening when WiRNS is both stopped and running. Anybod know why I am getting this error. Any thoughts ?

I too am having the same problem. I haven't tried again today.
i ended up using my zipcode-1 (zipcode+1 was way off; totally different ch. lineups) successfully. now i'm afraid to try WiRNS again in fear that the same thing will happen with this zipcode i entered in.

I don't use wirns but was trying to upgrade my zip code...xxxx1 gave me the error consistantly..finally tried xxxx6 which has SAME lineup and it worked fine...go figure...even the warm reboot did not help initially.

I will try it after work.
Also, as I mentioned above. I am trying to set up WiRNS so that I can use it for my own RTV with my own channel lineup AND also include the channel lineups for a RTV in another state. I selected the 2 channel lineups in my Zap2It account, but can't seem to figure out how to have the RTV select one channel lineup over the other. I tried modifying the channel mappings and having one channel lineup with 1000 offset, while the other remain as is. In WiRNS, I specify *my* RTV with channel mapping offset of 0 and do a netconnect. It seems to work fine. Then I go into WiRNS and specify *my* RTV with a channel mapping of 1000 to see if it downloads the channel lineup from the other state (just to see if i did things right) and it doesn't. It retains the original channel lineup instead of retreiving the other channel lineup.
Am I doing something wrong? I've been reading the WiRNS posts and none seem to bring up having different channel lineups for remote (i.e. out of state) RTV's. One section of a thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=4839350&&#post4839350) mentioned having WiRNS "public" viewable, but I can't even get past the having 2 different channel lineups. I dont think i'll have problems figuring out how to make WiRNS "public" viewable. Suggestions?

This worked to fix my "Unexpected Result Code (93A6000b)" issue. Thanks for pointing this out ClearToLand.
Can anybody give a brief explanation how to set up WiRNS with different channel lineups (for a local replaytv and a remote repalytv in another state ... both with simple analog cable) ?
