View Full Version : Can this be done with a LCD touchscreen?
Is there some way to use a cheap LCD touch screen to control my system and also be fed by the OSD on my processor so I don't have to fire up my projector to do adjustments and change modes?
Will AMX or Creston do this?

Yes and maybe. You can use a program like NetRemote (www.promixis.com) with any computer including but not requiring a touchscreen to control your system. As for the OSD setup...that I can't answer. You'd have to find a computer that can accept the video feed from your projector. Assuming your computer can accept and display the feed then you should be set. Of course, you'd also be have to be sure that your projector can put out a feed in the first place.
Krooooog,
Thanks for your help, don't need the projector setup to display, just the processor, when playing CDs and the like... don't want to have the projector on...
After some research and help from Krooooog, it looks like I will start off with a fanless minicomputer like this as it can hold my media as well:

Running NetRemote off of this touchscreen that also has coposite in for the Onscreen:

Both AMX and Crestron can do this rather easily.
They would be a pricy though.
