Video Stuttering

Just upgraded a 5504 to 300GB 16mb cache Maxtor drive using RTVPatch 2.4. While watching live TV the video will periodically stutter and then repeat.

Previous drive did not have the problem. Anyone have suggestions on what might be going on?

I thought I read here, somewhere (I can't find the thread), that the new 16MB Maxtors had problems like you describe in replays.

Can anyone confirm this?

What chain777 said does sound rather familiar. But, I'm having the same issue, I can't place the refrence either...

Someone - I thiking it was pu82 - tested some of the giant new drives and had some issues with 'em.

I has the same problem with my brand new Maxtor Maxline II 5400 rpm 250GB hard drive which i have thouroughly tested for bad sectors etc. The video and audio stutter for approx 75 secs and then the system reboots. It never used to happen in my original 40GB hard drive. Is it a heat problem pertaining to ventilation ?

Any soln to this wierd problem ?
