View Full Version : OT: "Lost" - deceased victims?

Supposedly, there were 48 survivors of the plane crash on the show "Lost". Does anyone know the names of all the people who have died so far, in chronological order?

I knew I was forgetting someone. Technically, he was a Marshall.

And didn't someone die in the last episode? Oh, wait... he didn't STAY dead. :)

yes, he survived by cracking the hell out of his rib cage. amazing how he wasn't brain dead.

That was hilarious... beating down on the lil guy and yet, his ribs didn't break. My friends and I were thinking if he didn't die (before he actually came back to life), he'd wake up saying "ow... why does my chest hurt so much?"

But it was a great episode in any case. =)

I have been patient with this series so far. It has been ok, but not great. With the last two episodes, I finally feel like were starting to get somewhere.

The black lady's (Rose?) husband. But he's not dead. He was in the rear of the plane and she thinks they're on the other side of the island looking for them.

He wasn't counted among the initial 48 survivors. And for anyone who's interested, check out this weird object flying over the engine right after that guy got sucked in.

what weird object? the rectangular thing that swoops up through the explosion?

So are people still saying this series is some allegory? Like one guy is Jesus, another Moses, and that the three wise men will show up any day now? :)

I'd sure like to know what ate the pilot. Maybe it was Jonah's whale?

Does that mean he's going to be spit up again on some other island?

Looks like a bad computer rendering job done on the cheap.

Pilot was not eaten. Mechanical devices don't eat people.

Actually, there were only 47 survivors of the crash (besides the pilot and the whomever died shortly after the crash)..... the other guy was the survivor of something else.

The pilot WAS eaten by something in the jungle that made loud noises and made the trees go back and forth.

First off, I want to apologize for adding to a thread I'm (purposely) not reading - perhaps this has already been mentioned by others.

Anyway, I just want to briefly ask that any thread that may contain a 'spoiler' about a show (I'm guessing the thread starter was just guessing) not give ANYTHING away in the thread subject line. As you all know because of the fact we're ReplayTV users, there's a very good chance we're 'behind' on a show - and if it's a sort-of mystery like 'Lost' it's critical to the enjoyment that nothing be given away ahead of time.

OK, I'm off my soapbox. Thanks.

As for the spoiler thing, who can possibly wait for Lost episodes, this is one show where you're not likely to fall to far behind.

Did you know that the show has been picked up for a second year?

Chances are, it will be a VERY long time before everything is resolved, if ever.

The last scene of the first episode shows the pilot in the tree, bloody but fully intact. If they wanted to show he was eaten, you would not had seen the pilot but the disgusted reaction of those that saw his half eaten body.

Too late...I already queued up all the episodes to him.

Actually there was a while where I fell behind on watching episodes....though that was mainly because I was having reception problems...and I watch everything recorded from HD first before I get to SD. Mainly because that RTV was a Refurb 5040....which I only upped to 250 recently.

But, now I want more :D

Last year it was Alias that I fell quite behind on....in fact when I started into it again...the reruns were just about to the point where I was resuming at. And, I thought about rerecording the reruns....

There were other series that I fell behind on as well....but this year it has been a different mix....

So, after the whole census dealie-o, they've accounted for all passengers, and that there is NOT a second half of the plane with other possible survivors somewhere?
(And what DID happen to that black lady?)

BaysideBas

You'll catch up quickly, next Wednesday at least, they scheduled 2 episodes back-to-back.

Second half of the plane? There was actually 3 sections of plane. The middle section, in which the majority of the people survived. The front section, which only the pilot survived and the back section which Jack found near the caves. So all the major chunks are accounted, unless some people survived the crash and walked to another part of the island.

Originally posted by boekjar (And what DID happen to that black lady?) Still around, just not essential anymore. Perhaps she'll show up later.

No, it hasn't. They ordered the back 9 episodes for a full season order of 22. The odds are, of course, very high that it will be picked up for a 2nd season, but this has not yet happened.

All this time, I thought the title of the show refers to the viewer experience.

For two minutes before the explosion the air is full of floating/windblown debris. Some of regular proportions, others with ragged edges. The rectangular object, when viewed in slomo, appears to be just one of those pieces. It flies and flexes as it does. Could be a piece of upholstery, a piece of paper or somesuch.

You guys better be careful. Keep talking about this show and I might start watching it, and if the execs find out *I* watch a show...

i still don't what was suspicious about that rectangular piece. as you concluded, i assumed it was another piece of misc debris that get swept up in the explosion.

It was the non-randomness of its path, I think. Looked too much like a dive bomber strafing a target and pulling up and away at the end of the run. This could certainly be attributable to FX on the cheap, recycling old motion paths.

Well, the video's not here anymore, but I recall that "thing" swooping in on the engine being somewhat similar to the "creature" that Kate and Jack saw.

And as for the original topic of this post, we can add Boone and Arzt. And the guy that Ethan killed, and Ethan himself.

What did ever happen to Rose?

The Robman

Didn't ya just love the way that they introduced the Arzt character to us just recently, evidently just so they could kill off a survivor without having to kill off a cast member?

When Artz started telling the guys building the raft when they should or shouldn't launch it, I half expected Michael to say to him "Who the hell are you? We've been on this island for three months already and I've never seen you before!" :)
