View Full Version : Disable SVM - Philips 34PW8502
I have a pretty annoying ringing problem on this set. Everything I have read suggests that disabling Scan Velocity Modulation(SVM) may help. But i haven't been able to figure out how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are daring....look around this website:

Of course the usual disclaimer applies: write down all your original settings.

There doesn't seem to be anything in the service menu relating to SVM as far as I can tell.

To disable SVM on Philips sets, you must physically cut a wire inside the set. I've not done this to my set as I don't believe the payoff is worth the risk. I've done some testing with mine and other HD sets, and the SVM on philips sets seems to correlate to the low svm setting on other hd sets.
Would you happen to have any instructions on how to do that?

I once had a website bookmarked that explained about it, but i had a computer problem and lost my bookmarks (not to be confused with marbles). The site just explained what had to be done, not how, though. You could try contacting and ISF technician to see if any of them would know the procedure for your specific model of tv.
