Construction is over for my basement home theater!(Link to pics (http://gallery.avsforum.com/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=7428198))
I'm starting to populate the entertainment center with my AV equipment, and I have a question on my two Toshiba 27" TVs (Model#27a33) and a Toshiba 62hmx84. Is there any way to change the IR command to power on the TV's? If I hit power on for my 62hmx84, it turns on both of the 27" TV's.
I realize most people don't have this issue, and Toshiba cannot make a different code for every TV, but I'm perplexed on how to solve the issue any other way.
Any ideas are appreciated!! It's been so cool to be moving into the space!
Talk about a man's haven!
Nice work on the basement.. good use of space and amenities. The color scheme is great.
It looks like you covered it all; from storage, movies, games and of course, drinking! :)
Again, GREAT JOB!

Thanks for the feedback! It's a great feeling to have it done! We've watched quite a few movies so far, and love it!
In case anyone followed this thread (doubtful based on the responses), I've figured out that the best solution would be to go with a Xantech RT8 IR router which sends signals only to the IR emitters that you specify. I can then block the IR receivers on the TV's with the mouse emitters and some electrical tape and signals will not go to the TV's unless routed through the RT8.
My Pronto TSU7000 will make this seamless once I program it. Thank goodness for two weeks off from work, however I think I'll need another two weeks after that to get everything done.

Go to Remotecentral.com and see if they have the discrete codes for your TV's for "power on" and "power off" commands. These may be different than just saying "power". That may help, may not. Good luck.

Just a quick update.. I was finally able to get all of the TV's working. I had a Phillips Pronto TSU7000, so I ended up getting two RF base stations for them and having an IR emitter taped over each of the two side TVs (so no signal could penetrate. The base stations receive RF signals from the remote control and translate them into IR. I wasn't sure I'd be able to get all of the TV's working but its all set now!
Those base stations will also help me out on getting IR inside my closed equipment area!

Hey tcrandal - great setup!!! One quick question for you - did I read on your site that you will be adding two pinball machines? I love pinball and have 7 or 8 in my collection. Which pins are you going to add? Home theater & pinball - what a great combination!
Thanks...
