Once again tired of buying overpriced cables and not being able to get them when I need them I'm going down the make my own route. My preference is Canare, though I'm open to other suggestions. My goal is to be able to assemble RCA, BNC, and F cables in various lengths with as little cable/tool stock/expenditure as possible. Ideal is to purchase a single cable size, single stripper, single crimp/die toolset. These cables would be used both for interconnects within a rack and for runs across and between rooms. Flexibility is important.
Cable: There appear to be 2 canare cables that would work well for multipurpose home theatre. LV-61S is a 24awg RG59 type coax. Fairly flexible. L-3C2VS is a 25awg coax that is more flexible than the LV-61S. I'm leaning towards the L-3C2VS as it's electrical characteristics are very close to the LV-61S, but it's smaller and more flexible. Any recommendations on these appreciated.
How flexible are these when using as interconnects in a rack?
What concerns should I have with long runs (RGBHV, YPbPr, Audio, S-Vid, Composite) of anywhere from 25' to maybe 75'?
How critical is length matching in RGBHV and YPbPr?
Thanks,
