Hello,

Being a part time carpenter I figured I would embark on building my own screen for my new 4805. In addition my neighbor who is an artist indicated they would help id needed in stretching the material. Nonetheless, this handyman is lost on what type of material would be best suited for his 4805. EBay has been visited but I am reluctant in purchasing anything before I have an idea of what I should be looking at. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all!

Depending on the size of screen, go to Rockland fabrics, fabricland, or bouclair's and get some 100% blocking black out cloth... they carry it to 54in wide (I think). BO cloth is as good as regular matt white screen material.

100% blocking black out cloth

Would the projector actually project on the "black out cloth"?

Actually, its "black inside" cloth...:-)..... the "inner layer" is a black material while the outer faces are usually white. Yes, if you have read the many number of DIY screen posts, it projects fine on the nice white surface of the BO cloth.

Also note, there are cloths that are less than 100% blocking which might not work for you depending on how you build your frame and what's behind the screen (ie. window).
