hello,
I have a newbie's question. I am building a new house now and have asked builder to do surround sound pre-wire for living room. I am just curious where should the wire outlet for rear end speaker? I saw my neighbor's outlets are on the ceiling, but I thought shouldn't the outlets near floor? Any suggestion where to put mine?
Sorry for this stupid question.

totally depends on your speakers. in wall, in ceiling, floor standers, small one using brackets on the wall?

I like my rears above my ears to help create a more diffuse sound field.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I don't have home theater yet, but plan to install one when I move in. So I guess I just need to buy the right speaker to fit the location of wire outlet. For most of HTIB, what kind of rear speaker is more popular?

I'd say that most HTiB have smaller speakers suited for small speaker stands or small brackets to mount on the wall.
