I have noticed an issue when displaying 2.35 DVD’s on my XG852 and Lumagen VisionPro HDP. My screen is 16/9 and the DVD player is a Denon 2900 with SDI. 1.78 DVD’s fit perfectly, as do 2.35 horizontally but the image doesn’t center itself vertically. In other words, the image has a smaller bar or no bar on the top of the screen and a larger bar on the bottom. My Lumagen is set at 16/9 720p.

I just got the 2900 and Lumagen and don’t know if this is a configuration problem in one of my devices, just the way the Denon works, or a software bug.

My projector has just been calibrated and I have a 2.35 memory in the XG that centers the image but feel the DVD player should be doing that automatically. After the fact, I noticed the DVD players aspect ratio is set for wide and I don’t want to mess with that now that everything is calibrated. I can change it when I have some fine tuning done in a few months if recommended. Which DVD video settings are adjustable over SDI?

Any thoughts?

Have you made sure there is no pixel cropping on the input?

I am not sure about the Lumagen.... but on the Iscan HD there is a setting called SDI offset spefically for this. On the FE CS-2 you have to use the input and ouput size and position controls to minimize this.

I agree, SDI offset on IScan HD is very convenient. I am sure there must be something similarly simple to use feature in Lumagen.

I'm using a Denon 2900 SDI into a Holo3DII. It seems normal for there to be a band of "junk" a few pixels wide on the left side of the image. I crop this area out with the H3D's software.
