I saw these once, but cannot remember where. They convert an svideo signal to double rca, one carries the y and the other the c component of svideo. These are used so that rg6 cable can carry the signal over long distances. Another connecter at the other end converts it back. I saw these on a website a while back, but any internet searches for svideo and rca connector just turn up the connector that combines the y/c components or a composite signal.

Blue Jeans Cable ( http://www.bluejeanscable.com/ ) has them for a reasonable price.

Those would work, but they breakout to bnc. The particular ones that i remember seeing were in one solid encasement with male s-video on one end and 2 female rca on the other. Thanks for the tip though.

It took a while to find a useful search string, but try "s-video to 2 rca" on Google (be sure to include the quotes). Here are a few of the results:

BTW, BlueJeans will be happy to make you whatever you want. To sub RCA's for BNC's will cost a few bucks extra but they'll do it no problem.

Well, i've found these http://store.homeavcables.com/yhst-5646597806759/37124-12in.html

I was hoping that I could get an adapter for like 4-5 bucks. All I need to do is run an s-video cable about 30 foot, and i have some extra rca cable lying around. It's just about as cheap to buy an s-video cable as it is to buy these adapters. I know the adapters would be better because they would be more flexible in the future. All the ones i've seen on the internet have an s-video plug, then wires, then rca plugs. I recall seeing one that was all molded into the same piece of plastic, but I don't remember them costing all that much. I wish I would have bookmarked that page.

Now I know what you're talking about. I found these a few months back, and forgot I saved a bookmark. They are just as expensive as cables, though.

Thank you so much. That's exactly what i was looking for. I was even at that site, and somehow I didn't see them. I know it would be about the same as buying an s-video cable, but they are more flexible in that i could make my own rca cables out of coax for longer runs in the future.

I meant to say they are just as expensive as splitter cables. I agree that using dual coaxes and splitters is often the best way to go. I would have gone that route, but I ended up moving my projector and Tivo box to a new location next to each other.
