Howdy,
I am looking for some input with splitting component output. I have a rptv and a pj. I want to send the DVD to both. Both units are older and the highest connection for each is component. I have not tried any of the Y splitters out there yet. I have found them of course priced from 2.49 to 22.50 each. My component run to the projector is silver serpent. I would like to stay in the same realm for video quality.
Note: I would only be using one side at a time.
example: HR10-250 receiver
watching standard TV via component to a Toshiba rptv 60" 4:3, now the game or other HDTV widescreen content comes on, Turn off the Toshiba, lower the screen, turn on Sony VPL-VW10HT projector, and watch via component HDTV 16:9 1080i on a 129" screen.
So I would just be splitting the video component out just for convenience. The component run to the TV is 6', the component run to the projector is approx 24' I am not trying to run a bunch of things at the same time. The screen comes down over and in front of the rptv.
This is why I would think a splitter like the items below might work.
Cobalt Y Split (http://www.cobaltcable.com/product/y_splitter.htm)
Smarthome Y Split (http://www.smarthome.com/7835.html)
Cables for Less Y Split (http://www.cablesforless.com/browseproducts/RCA--Y--Splitter.HTML)
Traingle Cables Y (http://www.trianglecables.com/cv-rca-y.html)
