I have a DLP and a projector in the same area and would like to show same signal at both.

Can I split component signal to two different monitors (DLP and projector) if only one monitor will be on at a time??

Better yet, can I split the component signal so both monitors show the same signal at the same time?? Is there signal loss??

I know a switch can be utilized but I would rather go with the simplicity of a "splitter" if possible.

If a switch is the only thing that can be used, can a switch be placed after another switch, ie switch 4x4 in/out then switch one of the outs to 1x2 in/out??

I'd suggest getting one of these:

http://www.inday.com/hdda1/hdda1.htm

I use one of these combined with their 1x4 switch (downstream from the switch) and it works great.

Boykster,

How do you control the switch. Do you have IR with programmable remote??

Hey Nikojo,

I use the older version of the switch with the IR remote, and yes I use a Pronto remote (programmable) using macros to switch my sources, including changing the input on the Inday switch.

If you are in the market for BOTH a switch, and a way to distribute to more than 1 display (2 actually), you might check out video-storm

http://www.video-storm.com/products.asp?id=2

They have 2 intersting products (that have gotten good reviews). A 4x2 switch that outputs the same input to both outputs, and a 4x2 matrix, that allows you to independantly select sources for each display. Their prices are good.
