Looking at starting a home theater PC. I was looking at my first tuner card, and I was trying to pick out the best one to pick. I have used very low end ones in the past and wanted something a bit more high end. My first choices was the FusionHDTV III Gold QAM, but I saw some cards that were more costly than this one. From my initial research on this card, it is supposed to be the first one to do qam 64/256 which my cable company uses. Why would the other cards like MyHD be more expensive?

Other cards do hardware decoding. The Fusion does it in software, so you need a beefier computer to use the Fusion card.

BTW, you will only be able to view the cable channels that remain unencrypted.
