What causes uneven focus for a projector???

Hi,

My projector developed an uneven focus accross the screen, meaning the left side of the image is in-focus, the right side is blurry and out of focus.
It is a $22K LCOS projector. It projects straight on (not from an angle), from a tabletop onto a Stewart Studiotek screen. The projector is 4 weeks new! Your expert opinion would be much appreciated.

Sounds to me like maybe the projector wasn't locked down tight and got bumped or something - though I'd think then the center would be right and both sides would be out. Unless, you were a hair off on focus to start with.

Just a thought - easy enough to check out.

I'm betting your projector isn't perfectly square to the screen or that your schimelflug is out (is you have that on your projector.. I'm from CRT land).

Try making sure your projector is perfectly square to the screen, adjust the schimelflug if you can, and then refocus.
