View Full Version : Hauppauge PVR-150 Deinterlacing in DScaler??

I posted this question on the DScaler forum last week but got no replies. I'm hoping someone here can shed some light...

I recently swapped out my PixelView capture card in favor of a Hauppauge PVR-150. Picture quality is quite good (perhaps a bit better than the PixelView) but changing DScaler's (4.1.11) deinterlace settings seems to have have no effect. Given that this the PVR-150 is using DShow filters does DScaler do *any* deinterlacing with this card?

I'm seeing some strange combing artifacts that only seem to appears on fast moving red hued objects. Any clues regarding where I should look?

Thanks,
Steve

I didn't think the 150 would work in Dscaler, being a hardware encoder.

I didn't think it would work either but it does :) I think the only way it'll work with DScaler though, is that the Hauppauge drivers and (possibly) the mpeg decoder must be installed in order for DScaler to see the card.

Anyway, as I indicated in the first post, image quality is quite good bar the annoying combing during hi motion. What's really weird is that the combing does not appear to be present on objects other that those that are brightly colored. Fast moving red objects are particularly bad.
