One of the things I liked early on with FPS games with Counter-Strike was the ability to go into a room and turn on/off a light. I later like the ability to shoot-out lights in Splinter Cell. I wonder what prohibits these kinds of environmentals from being more pronounced in games. I presume its processing power vs. the multiplayer girth and general graphics processing limitations.
This past Saturday night I was playing GR2 with the gang and on the Airport map we played (for warm-up) terrorist hunt. It would have been nice to not just fire the rocket launcher, but also fired it at a vehicle and watched it blow up, taking out some opponents in act.
Funny thing is that in mission-mode things like this are available, but in non-mission mode they are not. Also, why did GR2 lose the ability to actually walk into a building? I can only guess this was a limitation of some sort on the multiplayer processing resources.
Anyway, I was wondering what some of your fave environmental variables were that you often not find in other games, but wished they were available.
