Does the Vinc Bravo D2 output...

Studio black levels = 16 - 235

or

PC black levels = 0 - 255

Or can you set it? And how?

I had a D1 at one time and the D2 shouldn't be any different: The D1 output video/studio black levels for sure, don't know about PC black levels.

This is the E-mail I got from Vinc

Mr. Negrette,

According to our engineering staff, the D2 black level is 0-255. It is built into the hardware and can not be changed or adjusted.

Thank you,

Well, the D1, which uses same EM8500 chip was spec'd for 16-235 on the DVI output. So I dunno what Vinc is talking about

THe Bravos output proper video levels for DVD so no info is crushed.

I don't have the Bravo but my Momitsu V880 that is very similar, output PC level 0-255. Playing with contrast and brightness within the DVD player should able you to output Video level 16-235 with no problem So no info will get lost either.

The Bravo's set 0 IRE at 16 and 100 IRE at 235 to properly allow below black information from DVD video sources.
