I saw this at Wal-Mart and I must say that it has a very impressive picture and price. I'm not in the market for a plasma (getting a projector) but I'm wondering why this set seems to be completely ignored. Appearently Sanyo TV's aren't highly regarded? I don't see why. I own a 27" Sanyo right now and the picutre is perfect. They also have the best reliability rating by quite a margin in Consumer Reports and from the ones I have owned that holds true. I have another Sanyo from 1977 and the picture still looks perfect. Since I calibrated it recently it looks just as good as any new TV. Why is Sanyo ignored? Is it just their plasma sets that aren't thought to be too great? The one I saw certainly seems to be on par with Panasonic and Pioneer sets I've seen.

Just picked up the Sanyo DP23845 (23" LCD) from Wally world for clearance price of under 500 buckeroos.

I have a 50" Pio plasma for primary viewing, but this little LCD is for a guest bedroom and the picture/contrast/color is pretty good, and is HD ready, with DVI/component/cable tuner built-in.

Nice for the price!

Running cable SD in now and the picture is very good for "low def", with very little noise, and no SDE.

Sanyo makes solid products in general. I think it's a combination of jumping "completely" into bed with Walmart & simply no marketing in the US. Sanyo is a HUGE company that makes many, many different items & thay all seem to be built well. Too me, Sanyo is the "Jack of all Trades" but master of none. Meaning, they make so many different things, but they never excel in one area.

I noticed the Sanyo 42" Plasma @ Walmart a few weeks back & it did look solid, but little things bothered me like a few "stickers" that said HDTV & so on. Yes, they can come off, but 1st tier manufacturers print these onto the bezels. Again, I'm sure it's a "save money" procedure. For $1399.99 it looks like a solid purchase.
