View Full Version : Anyone using an IMX lens in their 2.35 theater?

Hi,

I'm thinking of the following combination:
HS51+IMX+H1000

The IMX model is the one that installs directly onto the HS51.

Is anyone else here using an IMX lens with an anamorphic lens? Or has anyone tried it?

I'm wondering what the configuration process would be?
1. focus HS51 w/o IMX or H1000
then
2. focus HS51 w/IMX but w/o H1000
then
3. focus HS51 w/IMX and w/H1000 (with H1000 "engaged." ie-with a 2.35 picture)

would that lead to not needing to refocus the HS51/IMX when the H1000 is "disengaged" and/or slid out of the way?

Thanks!

is this working out for you ? I'm considering a IMX too for the HS50

I'm considering one with my Optoma H78/H1000 combo, but I think having to move the H1000 28mm further forward to accomodate the IMX will cause some vignetting of the image, so I don't think it will work for me. I'd still like to know if the combination of IMX and H1000 is doable though.

Gary.

I plan on running an IMX lens with an H-1000 in my theater, but it won't be done for a while. I still need to build the room first and I don't get the keys to the house until Thursday. My theater should be running by Thanksgiving, though and I plan to post some more on it when I get going.

I didn't do it. As much as i LOVE the IMX. Budgetary pressures are preventing me from keeping the IMX and H1000.

Im using the IMX lens and love it. I use it with almost every DLP Ive tried.
It smooths things out a little and reduces that hard digital glare. I sometimes go through phases where I remove the IMX for a week at a time but I always end up using it again and prefer the image with it.

Hey Alan ... since you've had time with a Prismasonic ... would you also recommend the IMX with an H-1000? I've heard that lens had just enough CA to smooth out the SDE. Not so? Always room for improvement?

You are correct. No need to use the IMX with the prismasonic.

I gather from this statement your Isco-III is so refined that SDE remains intact even after stretching, while the lesser H-1000 appears slightly defocused.
