Silk Screen Effect on LCD direct view?

I was interested in getting an LCD RPTV, until I took notice of the silk screen effect (shimmering crystals on the screen). Is this evident in LCD flat-panel sets?

No, SSE seems to only afflict microdisplay RPTVs. Seems to have something to do with the screens they use in order to disperse light at a wider angle.
