26-incher for $624 when rebates are said and done with. It's from Amazon.
So far I love it. I've got my ReplayTV out going to it. And surprisingly enough, I'm not even annoyed by the stretched out TV image. It's so subtle I almost can't tell. Actually, I've got the outs going to a Motorola reciever system I bought from Woot for $129 the other night. The outs to that go out to the TV. The Motorola unit has a built-in DVD player... the picture is EXCELLENT. The first movie I watched on it was "The Negotiator"... sounded and looked great.
It was a great birthday present to myself and at that price you can't beat it!
Too bad you don't have a fry's nearby... they've been selling this at this price without rebates on sale.
These sets do have some "issues" but most of the time those can be worked around.
Does your set have descret IR commands for imputs? Some of the newer units do, this alone would be a deal breaker if it didn't.... mine doesn't. =(

I got the Syntax 27 inch from CompUSA for $699 about two months ago. The set has a few minor issues, but I love it, great picture and the price was great, I have no regrets. My only issue that annoys me is the sound quality is just fair.

Yeah, but the speakers are removable - very nice. Many folks embed them, and then you are stuck. The enclosures are big enough I bet you could open then and replace with better speakers if you like the integrated look.
The newer models don't have removable speakers (at least they don't apper to be). Mine in the bedroom has got the speakers removed and some nice RCA dipole speakers set in place of those two. I've got a center channel and two other speakers for the rears, but not hooked up yet...

[QUOTE=Jeff D]... I chalked that up to the meager 10amp in the tv. How did you hook up your speakers and the ones you intend to hook up (the rears), are you using an external amp?
