Which one is bettere?
What does a $1500 dvd player do that a $150 dvd player can't..
why is there so much of price difference? is it just style or something..
Better audio DACs, better build, more isolated power supply, better quality deinterlacer, better PQ, etc, etc. You could just as easily ask what the difference is between a $15000 and a $50000 car - both get you from point A to point B, but obviously do it in a different manner and style. The Denon 5910 ($3500) has been reported to have the best PQ of any player currently available. The $1000-$1500 Denon 3910 and Pioneer 59ai are also considered to be among the best (co-winners of the Secret's player of the year [2004] award). My Denon 3910 has a PQ much noticeably better than my LiteOn DVD recorder (even my wife could see the difference). So yes, you do get what you pay for, although there are certainly diminishing returns as you keep doubling the price.
