Need to for a new PIO 5050HD. Appreciate any thoughts on which brand to buy and from where.

Depends on length, for short runs under 5 meters, virtually any HDMI cable will work fine. For longer runs (up to 10 meters), Ultralink HDMI Pro Platinum is an excellent cable, fully functional for passing 1080p. There are longer options that work well too (Gefen HDMI Extender for one).

I can recommend Ram Electronics solution a forum sponsor. My My HMDI cable from them was great quality and less expensive then monster cables
