iMON remote will work with any software application that has keyboard shortcuts.
iMON remote is not a learning remote so it can't be used to replace the dish receiver remote.
do you have any sugestions sir

If it's an older iMON receiver, it can accept commands from any remote, such as a Harmony. I'm using a Harmony 680 with the iMON receiver to control Meedio. It's a convoluted process to get all the commands set up with Meedio and the iMON software, but it works well once it's all done. First, check to see if your receiver will work with another remote, or if it's one of the newer models that do not.

friends
can imon make sure only one application is running at one time ? My DVD player (KMP) shares some similar keyboard short cuts as my PVR program :(
Very annoying -

I believe the imon software will let you set either global or program-specific commands. I use global windows commands, since I do not want to deal with program focus issues, but the capability should be there.

Hi:
What programs are you using that using the global commands works on?
I ask because the only time I have found any issue is when I am playing music in Meedio. I would like for the next and previous buttons to work - so I can skip songs - while I have focus on the internet. Currently, the now playing screen in meedio has to have focus in order for it to skip forward or back. Is there a way to do this globally? Also, what if I "Next" is a different set of keyboard commands for different programs? Is there a way that "Next" used globally could work with - say - both Meedio and Theatertek?
Thanks
Arcanum,
Hello... you have to choose which application to use All time control mode. This is a function you can set using the Imon software. If you turn on All time control mode (you can do this by assigning a button on the remote to turn it on and off) the app you specified for all time control, will be the one controlled by the remote despite changes in focus.
Set your all time control mode to Meedio. While surfing, press the all time control mode button, to change tracks, and turn it off again to switch back to using the remote for currently focused apps.
Hope this helps.
The newer imon receivers meaning the ones that come with the Imon Pad? Wont these receivers work with old Imon remotes also?

Hi:
Thanks for the input jpadua. That makes sense since I didn't know you had to assign a button to go into full time control mode - I just assumed the option didn't work for me. Have you looked at the new imon software - version 4 - I downloaded the final release last night and now I can't find where to set full time control. Unless it's just not clearly labelled in the new GUI.
Thanks

The reason all of my commands are set up for global Windows operation is simply because Meedio is the only application I use on the HTPC...net surfing is done through Meedio's browser plugin, and external apps like Mame and Winamp are controlled through Meedio plugins, so Meedio never loses focus. It is possible to assign commands to only work in a specific application, but I have not tried it out. From looking at the setup in the iMon software, it looks like it should be possible to assign buttons to only work in specific software, but it seems like it would cause 2 problems: it isn't clear if the button will only work if the app is in focus, and it may mean that the button cannot have any other assignment, meaning it may not be used in another application.
If the now playing screen in Meedio is the only place that skipping tracks works, it could be an issue with whatever theme you are using. Which theme are you using? Have you tried any other themes? The main template for the theme has to have the commands defined in order for music navigation to work in every screen (off the top of my head, I know HDeeTV and the Meedio themes Sunrise and Horizons have global music control). If you're running TT through Meedio, it should shut down the music player anytime TT is started, so the commands should be able to be duplicated. That's only my guess, you might ask about it on the Meedio boards, since I don't use Theatertek, but there are a lot of people that do.
Arcanum, I just downloaded and installed the beta driver for Imon and you're right! the setup for all time control dissapeared? maybe they plan to do away with that feature? although on the window cmd setup, all time control mode is there. There is just no way to assign it to a program.. hmm this is odd, I'll email my contact in soundgraph for this issue.
Arcanum, Soundgraph has gotten back to me about the All time control mode. They have removed this function on the new software. There is now a new function on the launcher tab on the setup menu. Anything you set on the launcher, will be the program launched when you click the Imon Blue button. This program will be controlled all the time if launched by the button. Example, you set meedio as the program to be launched by the Imon button. If you are surfing the web, and click the next track (assuming you programmed this in the imon setup for meedio) even if Internet explorer is on focus, Imon will automatically change the track on meedio. The only problem I find with this is that the focus will change to meedio, you would have to run the task switcher to go back to your previous program.
Hope this helps
