They're going to be released sometime in December, or at least the 32" is.

The LTV32wHD TV will be available from Westinghouse Digital in December 2005, featuring 1366x768 native resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 8ms response time and 400 cd/m2 brightness.

That is from a press release on the Westinghouse site in regards to a contest in which one of the 32" will be given away as a prize.

I've been waiting for thes forever. I was thinking about getting the new 27 inch version as my first HDTV, but then they drastically reduced the price of the older versions. Now I'm thinking about getting the LTV-32w1 just because it's so dirt cheap.

The only problem is that it doesn't have a HDMI port. I was planning on getting a PS3 next year and would love to check out hi-def moves on Blu Ray. I'm afraid that a DVI-HDMI cable may not be compatible. I'm afraid of the incompatibility, but the price is too good to pass up.

FWIW, I've mine connnected to an SA8300HD cable box with an HDMI output with HDCP enabled. I've had no problems using it with an HDMI->DVI adapter plugged into the monitors DVI port.

I saw a Westinghouse LCD at the Great Indoors here in Columbus, OH today. It was a 32" I believe, but not sure. It had a very nice picture, but not big enough for what I want.

How come none of the Westinghouses below 37" are 1920x1080 native? I have been searching all over for a 27" or a 32" that is 1920x1080 native but only the 24" Dell and others have that resolution. The next highest size is 37". WHY?

I think that for all intents and purposed the extra resolution would be wasted in a 32" display.

Next year.
CMO is moving all their large LCD TV panel production to 1080p by next year.
32, 42, and 47 are all due next year.
Presumably, Westinghouse will have first dibs because of their "special relationship" with CMO.
CES 2006 is 6 weeks away...
