picture in setup but not in live tv

hey, as mentioned i recieve a picture in the setup but not when i go to watch tv. i have an ati hdtv tuner along side an ati analog tuner. both drivers are current, the media center roll up was installed before them along with nvidias dvd encoder. everything was working fine until recently, i have a high def tv and directv came out and installed a hd box. when i went to reconfigure the problem had started. any thoughts or suggestions of why this is happening? when i go through the setup it does do the digital setup as before so i don't think thre is a problem with the setup. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if this is exactly your problem, but I had something similar happen to me. In my case Live TV stopped working, however recording and playing Recorded TV worked fine (and Live TV worked fine when logging into other user accounts).

What had happend is that when I installed Digital Channels (with an HD tuner card) MCE got confused about my analog channel information for Live TV. I just re-installed the analog channels in MCE Setup and Live TV worked fine again (yes, it was a pain re-selecting which channels you want or don't want). Hope this helps.

do you mean, just reconfigure the my tv settings? i have tried the setup several times, and to be honest im doing this for a friend, the computer is not actually mine i have just spent several hours reinstalling and reconfiguring everything. i am not sure if he can still record tv just not watch it live, i will check that out. and you said it worked on other accounts, he only has one right now but ill try creating another user and see if it works in there. if it does, i will try that but if you don't mind would you elaborate more on setting analog channels. thanks for the help by the way i have been battling his pc for about a week and a half now and with finals nearing for me i really don't want to spend much more time on it.
