I'm not sure how to describe my problem. The video from my Showstopper 2000 looks like it has a bad cable. But I've replaced the cable and verified it works on another source.

What I get is an odd or different color in the middle of the screen. It seems too blue. The sides look better. Couldn't find the problem by searching, so has anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
David

David, what you describe isn't normal for any replaytv. If you're sure the problem isn't your TV, I would swap out the A/V cables and or reboot the Showstopper. If the problem persist, the motherboard should be defective. I sell replacement motherboards if need be. www.replaytvparts.com

I agree with MB not a common problem, I'd suspect something else first.

Other option to think about is make sure the replay cables either in or out don't pass close by something that could screw up the signal. Unshielded items are the bigh thing to watch for speakers, wireless phones, wireless routers, etc. could all cause things like what you see.

Best thing would be to move the replay to another TV and make sure the problem is there too. If you have a second source in the other place would also be good to figure out if problem in on input or output from the replay while you're at it.

Thanks for the inputs. I've been travelling, so it took a long time to do additional trouble shooting. Thought I should finally give some feedback.....

I've determined that if I do a hard reboot (pull the cord), the problem corrects itself. If I simply hold the power button for a reboot, it does not help. As MB says, it is probably the motherboard. Since I have working 5040s, I probably won't repair the showstopper.

FYI, a better description of the problem: It gives me three colors (Left, Center, Right) on top of a good looking "black and white" picture. No distortion other than the color. Pull the plug, and problem goes away (for a while).....

Thanks again,
David
