audio prob part 2..help!

soory dont have the model number but I wan to gome home and try the advice I get here.

Problem: How do I get an analouge (sp) sound from my cable box?
Digital is working ok, (digital coax) have 2 RCA's from the box as well to the amp, to the video 2 ports , still with no sound.

Do I have to run an S video from the box to the amp , then another to the TV? with the RCA's from the box to the amp) I thought direct would be better.

Ever since I put the s video from the cable box to the tv the TV's speakers dont work, how do I get the TV's speaker to turn on again? Setting on the TV? Its a Panny 37. 1 year old. EDTV.

I think I can help if you could clear up things for me. The digital (cable box)
probably has SPDIF digital audio out, and usually analog (Lt Rt) stereo out>
Both use a RCA CNN type.

If you are refereing to SPDIF then a DD (dolby digital) decoder is needed...I
will look for your follow up.

The S-video connections are video only ... you will not change your audio situation by looping it through the receiver. Probably the most likely thing to go wrong is that when you have the RCA red/white on the cable box going to the TV you're using the wrong set of input jacks on the TV to go with the S-video input.
