TH-42PWD8UK color adjustment problems

I just got Panny TH-42PWD8UK, and am having problems with the colors being displayed. The panel is connected to Philips 642 DVD player with component cables. I am having problems displaying red. Actually, the images are grayish-blueish in nature, almost as if they're black and white. I have adjusted all the settings to 0, and now need some advise on how to make the picture look good.

Double check your Component connections...then use the Picture Button on your Remote. Highlight "Normal" and Click on that. It should reset to Factory Settings?

Double check you cabling, sounds like you have one cable not making good contact, and/or tow cables crossed. as I recall the panny does not have color coding for the component connection, but I think Burzzi has a color photo somewhere in his Panny FAQ.

actually, it was my error - the output on the dvd player wasnt set up properly, so after fiddling with its menu for a minute, everything is as it should be! thank you for your help.
