Hello.
IT has been a long time since I visited this forum for the last time.
I quit the whole AV hobbit for a while since I am going to school but recently I got the AV bug again
Anyways, I am looking to buy a used 34XBR910 (some neighbor is selling it) and I have no idea how much I should pay for it. As a matter of fact, I don't even know what year it was introduced and when it was replacecd by the current 960.
Can you guys help me getting some ideas on how much I should be looking to pay for a good condition used 34XBR910??
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks!!

Actually the 34HS420 replaced the 34HS510 (same tube and tuner, only some of the features were taken away and the price lowered by about $500). They sold these for like two years. I considered buying one in early-mid 2003 before i went with a Panny so ask your neighbor just how many months he's had it. It could be less than one year or more than two
wrong TV Randy, he said XBR910 replaced by XBR960
the XBR960 is two years or maybe three now old
so the XBR910 is probably at least two
considering the price of the XBR960 is under 1800 in most stores
I would have trouble giving him more than 900 but 700-800 would be reasonable

For some reason i got off track and thinking about the 510 the whole time. Sorry. I'm going go back and delete my stupid post now :D

Boy he did get ripped. The street price on the 34XBR910 was about $2500 average but like BMWs, these TVs don't have good resale value. You can get brand new models that perform just about as well for a thousand dollars less. The seller would probably want a lot more than it's worth. It is a great TV but still lacks an ATSC/QAM tuner, no cablecard slot, no HDMI input, which is not a big deal to most people but you can use that as a bargaining chip. I'd offer about a grand and see if he blinks or faints :D
