I just bought a new TV and have been told that they need to be calibrated? If so, which disc do you recomend?

DVE or Avia. I like Avia in terms of user friendliness. DVE has patterns from 1-254, which can be helpful in system testing for more advanced users.

For DIY purposes I too would recommend either DVE or Avia. I also agree that Avia is a little more user friendly. To get the most out of your display though, I would encourage you to get it professionally calibrated. It is unlikely that you would be able to achieve the same level of PQ as an ISF certified calibrator. I know from personal experience that training makes all the difference. Here's how to find one near you. Go to imagingscience.com and use the dealer/tech locator for your state. Happy viewing!
