Panny 50U8K tuner question...

I'm going to order the U8K this afternoon, but I had one final question on the tuner.

My dad has an extra TIVO laying around his house, and i was wondering if I'd be able to use that for PIP on this tv. Right now, I have a Hd cable box (Scientific Atlanta HD82XXXX) and I want to be able to PIP cable.

If I have the cable running through Components in slot 1, would I be able to run the other cable wire (split) through the TIVO into slot 2 and PIP the two inputs?
Or, would I need to activate the TIVO service?

Hi,

The 50PHD8UK comes with 1 component, 1 composite with s-video and 1 VGA. The first two inputs have BNC connectors so you may need adapters.

Thanks for the response Nuz. I understand that, but I'm wondering if I can use the TIVO (as an external tuner) and run the cable wire through it, or do I need to subcribe to the service. I just need to know this for a PIP cable option.

I believe you will need to activate the Tivo if it does not have a activation service or you'll get message pop-ups on the unit.
