Oade Brothers Audio ok?

I wanted to order a Sony ES DVD player from Oade Brothers Audio, but don't know much of the company. Has anyone ordered from them and would or would not recommend them? I live in California and they would ship it UPS ground to me. Their price seems to be competitive, but the their return policy of a 15% restocking fee and no returns on some defective merchandise is not very consumer friendly :(

I had purchased Sony SCD-C222ES and Sony SCD-C2000ES from them in past. Fast shipping, quick e-mail/phone responses and good prices. I would recommend them. I don't have any returns experience though.

I am the same as the other member. They are an authorized Sony dealer that I have bought from, but never had to return an item or seek after the sale service.

Yes, I am planning to buy the Sony DVP-NS3100ES from them. How you liking your DVD player, other than the slooow remote response time, which I have read about? Are you happy with the picture and sound quality? I am planning to get the Sony Bravia XBR 46" LCD when it comes out in spring next year to hook it up to.

RoubaixPro I am a newbee at all this but I am very happy with my 3100ES - A10 combo thru HDMI @ 720P (A10 native). Also have hooked up through component and that looks only slightly less sharp then HDMI.

Haven't had any time to play yet but I don't think you will be disappointed with the 3100. It does react slowly but build quality appears excellent as far as I am concerned. I like the looks and solid feel of the cabinet and internals.

I purchase a Sony STR80ES receiver a few years back from Oade. The receiver
was shipped in a double box and arrived on time. However, upon trying it out
it failed.

I called Oade Brothers and they promptly sent me another one and gave me
the UPS code to have the other one shipped back to them at no charge to me.

The replacement receiver has work flawlessly and I have no hesitation in ordering
future items from them. The are as other have mentioned a Authorized Sony Dealer, which I confirmed with Sony at the time of my origanal purchase. :)

Similar experience with a modded AD/DA convertor I ordered last year and received the wrong model (likely my fault.) One phone call and right one was at my house in less than 48 hours. They support the tapers community with a recording forum. Highly recommend.

When the dopes at Sony's Hanover "house of horrors" "repair" station kept botchig repairs on my in-warranty SCD-XA777ES, Mr. Oade offered to repair it for free if I shipped it down. Now that's a dealer going the ex-tree mile! Kudos!
