I know if you want 1080p it is going to cost. However, I know most TV's come with 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i. There are some that just have 720p. My question is a LCD with 720p good enough or should I at least have the first four signals?

You should have all four. What models did you come across that claim 720p only?

I think it is the aqous that only go up to 720p. the 37" models. It saids nothing about 1080i. I think the new ones coming out in March have up to 1080i. I am confused because almost every other LCD at least goes up to 1080i except theres. I guess I'll keep shoping around. However, you do agree I need all four. Thank you.

I think 720p is higher resolution than 1080i. I bet once it support 720p, it should able to support all the rest of 480i/p and 1080i. And I think it just want to tell 720p is its native resolution.
The 37" Sharp will support all, 480i,480p,720p and 1080i. it just scales them to its native resolution.
