Ok, at this point I don't care about price or what the unit looks like.

I want something that gives me smooth video and elimates noise (Grainy Picture). Currently I'm running a 100" screen but want to go bigger. The problem is slow pans almost make me sick. I've tried several different players from the $200 and under range. They all look like crap, my best results are coming from my PC which has a ATI X700 pro. Of course It might be my projector which is a Sanyo Z3, I recently upgraded from a Infocus X1 which seemed to be smooth. Of course I only projected a 72" 16:9 image with the X1.

I'd also like to stick with component video because HDMI seems to have poor reds, well at least on the Z3.

What about that avia DVD player the one with the vga port. Just a thought

Slow pans will always look like crap if you are playing back film based material at 60Hz.

If you want the DVD player to scale and you want to use component, then you have no great options. If you want the PJ to scale and the DVD player to just deinterlace, than you can pick up several very good progressive players including many used ones. In the reasonable price range, I like the component out of the S97.

I don't know most of the LCD projectors, so I don't know if yours can do non 60Hz refresh. If so, that might change things a little and make the pans much more enjoyable.
