I just joined the ranks of XBR960 owners yesterday!
The good news is that I've been researching this set ever since it came out, and knew it was the one I wanted, so it was a matter of price and timing. Just happened into CC yesterday and they had an "open box" one that looked great...one small scratch on the dark gray plastic above the screen. I negotiated the price down to $1399 for it, and picked it up later that afternoon.
Now that I have it home and cleaned the screen, there is a small abrasion, about 1/4 x1/4", on the picture area. I don't know if it's going to bother me or not, but was wondering if anyone else had run into this and what they did about it. I either didn't see it in the store, or assumed it was just another fingerprint, which there were a bunch of.
Is the front surface that is scratched actually the face of the CRT on these sets? I guess, worst case, i could take it back, but the thing looks so good otherwise....
not sure what to do.
