I'm just finishing my basement HT area (13x12) w/ 7' ceiling in a 5.1 configuration.
I've got the Micra 6's and an HLR 6168 is on order. It'll mainly be used for HDTV (cable and hopefully soon FIOS), DVD's and SDTV. I was thinking about maybe getting a Pioneer 1015; I'm open to any suggestions, comments or recommendations regarding receivers with this set up.

I'll also take any recommendations/comments on up converting DVD players if you have any.

Thanks --- Ken

Look for a receiver that has the ability to delay audio (lip sync). New 657 Yamaha would be a fit or perhaps last years RX-V 1500. As for DVD, unless you tweak the hell out of the Samsung, you'll see some macroblocking with any of the Farouda chip set players. That means looking at Sony or Samsung and it's argued that Denon, Oppo or other players have better pictures.
