View Full Version : Threshold Shelved by CBS
I was somewhat entertained by this show. I would have rather seen invasion go of the alien ones i think thresold was better.

threshold, invasion, and surface... same show, different name. IMHO surface probably ranks as #1, with invasion and threshold tied for #2. I seriously doubt any of the three (2 now...) are going to make it past one season, their formats are for a mini-series, not an ongoing show.
too bad too, sounds like they just signed catherine bell, a BIG reason to watch the show!

...er, make that TWO BIG reasons to watch the show! ;)
Sorry, couldn't help it. :D
C.B. happens to be on my all-time TOP TEN LIST. Pretty exclusive company too I might add! :D

Threshold
Surface
Invasion
in that order
I actually stopped watching Invasion. After the let's-track-the-missing-babboons-in-the-everglades-at-night-with-flash-lights scene. Not to mention it was moving soo verrry slooowly from week to week.

Threshold seemed like an interesting idea at first, but it quickly descended into Odyssey 5 territory. I got so bored that I stopped watching it after a few weeks. I actually enjoy Surface and look forward to it each week. It's not great, but it's fairly entertaining and Lake Bell has one hell of a body. As for Invasion, I haven't seen any episodes yet, but I have them all recorded. Sometimes, I like to sit back and wait to see what's going to happen with a new show before I start watching it. There is nothing I hate more than when you get into a show and then they yank it midway through the first season.
Unfortunately, most of the good sci-fi shows are on hiatus right now. I look forward to the return of some of my favorites such as BSG, Stargate: Atlantis and The 4400. :)

I perfer Surface. Not because the show is "better", because the tone of the show is not SO serious. Other two, feel like si-fi CSI, all so heavy; beside, too many CSI already.
Threshold had the best cast of the 3 shows and also the best start IMO but as mentioned quickly degraded into stupidity and bad special effects to boot. Surface started off the worse but has grown on me even though the acting is just plain awful, but I think it has a chance to survive. Invasion has mostly bad acting and doesn't seem to be going anywhere worthwhile but I'll still watch it until it's cancelled.
None of them hold a candle to the best of the genre: Lost.

I would agree that Threshold had the best cast. I really liked Peter Dinklage, but not so much Charles S. Dutton. I couldn't get past the 1st 2 episodes of Surface, now after hearing all these comments I wish I had. I'm still watching Invasion.

My wife and I started watching Threshold and Surface. Given the first episode, I thought that Threshold was going to be a winner and Surface would sink under the waves.
However, due to REALLY bad dialog by Charles Dutton (they are writing him like a moron) and other weak writing in general, we have given up on Threshold. The only good thing we really liked was a great character played by Peter Dinklage (great actor with a great part - his size is completely irrevilant to the character).
Surface, in the meantime, has gotten more mysterious and generally more interesting over time.
IMHO,
