will a 34" widescreen crt actually have a 34" screen size? Or is it like crt computer monitors where a 19" would actully be 18" only.
will a 34" widescreen crt actually have a 34" screen size? Or is it like crt computer monitors where a 19" would actully be 18" only.
If you're in the United States then the indicated screen size is actual viewable area. You'll see the whole 34 inches. Some time ago a new law required CRT specs to indicate actual viewable area which is why you always see that as a footnote in PC CRT monitor ads. So basically any TV screen size you see listed is actual viewable area regardless of what type of TV it is (tube, flat panel, rear projection, SED, OLD, HoloG, etc).
In other countries, our 34" is called a 36" there even though 2 inches are hidden by the bezel and aren't viewable.
