I recently purchased a Sony KDF-E50A10 LCD Projection TV that has 3:2 pulldown capability. I also have a 1 year old $70 Panasonic Progressive Scan DVD player. The two are hooked together with component cables. I enabled progressive scan on the DVD Player and when look at the display on my tv it says it is getting a 480i signal from the DVD. Should I not get a 480p signal from a PS DVD Player? Since I have a cheapo DVD player should I just turn PS off and let the tv do the 3:2 pulldown? Or should I leave the PS on? I haven't found a menu on my TV that will let me disable 3:2 on the TV. I just want to make sure I get the best signal possible from my DVD player. Thanks!

If you can't configure reverse 2:3 in the TV, then whether to do it in the DVD player becomes a moot point. You'll want to deinterlace in the device that gives you the best looking results, but if you can't get your player to output progressive, then perhaps that becomes a moot point also.
