I currenlty have a Panasonic ED plasma (TH-42PWD8UK), I'm using a Denon DVD 2800. I am passing a 480i (over component) signal to the plasma and the picture is great...but could it be better?
Will buying a player with better DAC's (the 2800 has Analog Devices 54 MHz, 4:4:4, 12 bit Video D/A Conversion) and passing a 480p (over component) signal to the set yield a better picture?
Will buying say an Elite 79AVi and passing a 480p over HDMI be better?

There's a ton of great info here, but I'm over informed at this point and can't make a decision. Money is an object, but it's not the be all end all.

Here's what's lead me to the desire to upgrade (aside from the affliction known as upgraditis). I really want a universal player for DVDA and SACDs. I was considering the Yamaha 750 and the Onkyo DV-CP802 to use for audio only and continue to use the 2800 for video until some of the HD-DVD and BRD smoke clears and we have a real HD upgrade path.

So ultimately my question is this - Given my current set-up, is it really worth upgrading the DVD player at this time, or would I be better served getting something purely for audio now, and upgrading my DVD player in another year or so?
