NEC 42XR4 vs Mitsubishi LT-3780

Hello Forum,

I am trying to decide between a NEC 42XR4 vs Mitsubishi LT-3780. I realize these are completely different types of sets. I currently own a LT-3040 and I love the set. We are purchasing a larger set for our living room. We are at 8ft viewing distance and all types of lighting. We watch mixed HDTV and standard cable. I was going to consider the NEC 50XR5 as well but I was unsure of how good it would look at 8ft distance.

Please give me any input. Also, I was curious if the new NEC's come only in black bezel or if they still come in silver and white.

The NEC 42XR4 is a brand new plasma which I doubt any of our members have had the opportunity to review. It is rumoured to be based on the same glass as the Pioneer PDP-4360HD which is a very excellent product. A 50 inch plasma should be fine at 8ft away. Sorry, but I cannot help with the Mitsubishi.
